You can also perform this function alternatively by selecting a certain combination of keys altogether.

For this, you need to press Ctrl+Alt+Del and click on the power button in the start menu at the right corner.

How to Shut down a Computer with Windows 8 and 8.1

None of the variants of Windows told in the heading come with an option to open the Menu for Start.

Select to open the button to turn off the power and then select Restart from the drop-down menu which shows there.
