Computers are supposed to make things better and save us time and nerves.

Computers were made to make our work easier and sort out the issues related to technicalities and save us time and ease our life.

But, if somehow the computer starts to misbehave, as in your case you are going on searching on the net- Why does my computer turn off without warning?

But, need not worry anymore as in this article we are going to give real factful tactics that you can apply on your computer and figure out the problem and sort out the issue.

Well, actually there could be many reasons behind this and we have tried to jot down most of them below-

Hardware-related Issue

Hardware-related malfunctioning can actually spoil most of the computer functions in overall usability and to sort out this issue you need to configure or device manager.

Follow the below given chronological order to configure:

  • Go to Start < Control panel < Performance & Maintenance < System < hardware < Device Manager.

You can also figure out the utility of your disk through the command prompt option.

  • C Disk < Properties < Tools < Error C < Right-click on Windows Button

Or directly open the command prompt by searching in the start tab.

  • Command prompt < Type (Write) CHKDSK /f /r < press enter < Type- “Y” < Enter

After this, you need to wait for a while, for the process to get completed, and after this reboot the computer.

Thermal Issue

Thermal problem is a root cause for many other issues that you face in your system, whether it be slow working, lagging, application failing, system crashing, or not getting appropriate graphics while using.

Heat problems and thermal issues might be caused due to multiple reasons like ruthless and continuous usage and not regularly servicing the computer’s CPU cabinet.

Not working of fans also may cause an accumulation of excessive heat on the motherboard and not getting any channel to go out.

Also, if the fans are making a squeaking sound it is absolutely not a good sign and must be rectified. Maybe there might be some amount of accumulated dust on the fans which makes the fans slower and inefficient. There might be some hairs, eatables, or other stinking substances choking the overall system.

If your computer has been overclocked, the components might not be able to meet the demands of power that have increased. Remember that when you are overclocking, your PC is playing with flames: it could cause severe harm to your computer.

This is the reason we advise that you disable the programs that allow you to overclock and your computer should be running at the speed it’s supposed to. In the event that it is not, it could be overheated and even anxious.

A Problem in UPS or Voltage Suppressor

Ensure whether your UPS and Voltage suppressor are working finely and not creating a problem in the workability of the computer that lets it wake up unnecessarily.

So, Be sure that any power surge protection and UPS aren’t causing your issue by connecting your PC directly to the power outlet in the wall. If you also have a UPS that connects to a computer via a USB cable to your computer to control power-saving features, be sure that it’s disconnected.

If this solves your issue then you might have an issue with your Voltage suppressor or UPS. If you have a UPS, there could be other issues like a UPS overload or UPS software indicating an issue with power that requires shut down. Check to make sure that there isn’t more than one device connected to your UPS, and that it is updated with the latest software updates.

Malware or Virus

Your computer could be infected by a virus or some other malware that is created to stop your computer from functioning under certain circumstances. If your computer appears to be shutting down when running a specific program at a certain time of day, then it might be affected.

If there is some sort of malware straight away get it detected through an antivirus scanner.

OS Related Problem

If still the computer shutdowns after following all the above-mentioned procedures, you must check in your OS or at the level of System software.

Reboot the computer and enter BIOS while booting, and let the computer be idle in the booting setup

If your computer doesn’t shut down after a period of inactivity on BIOS, the operating system’s installation could be damaged. It is recommended to make a backup of Windows to a prior date at which the computer wasn’t shutting down automatically, or erase everything and then reinstall Microsoft Windows.
